Ahoj Vašíku,

# 25 MANDATORY EQUIPMENT
At all times, each musher must have with them the following items. Random checks of equipment may be made both at checkpoints and out on the race trail.
- Maps to cover the whole race trail (1:50000 / M711 UTM system)
- Veterinarian handbook. These will be distributed to mushers either from the info kiosk or at the musher’s meeting.
- Compass
- Snow shovel
- Axe or long knife
- Extreme winter sleeping bag - minimum 2500 grams
- First aid equipment
- Extreme winter clothing (with reflective material that is well visible in the dark)
- Extra set of clothing (inner- and outer clothing, socks and footwear)
- 8 booties per dog, including those in use
- Head lamp and batteries
- Light stick/signal flare (to be carried in pocket on person)
- Wire or chain for any dogs that are dropped at checkpoints. (There is to be one length per dog in the team - min 40cm. Lengths of gangline with wire core can also be used. At checkpoints, each dog in the team is to be secured with wire or chain between the collar and the gangline.)
- Reserve dog food for at least 24 hours (500 grams per dog, packed by the musher and sealed by race officials. Under normal circumstances, these packs arrive at the finish line unused.)
- Reserve food for the musher for at least 24 hours. This food must weigh at least 500 grams. - A functional water cooker and pot, capable of heating a minimum of ½ litre water per dog.
- Rubbish sack
- Extreme survival bag (windproof). This must weigh at least 1200 grams.
- (an alternative to an extreme survival bag: tent and normal windproof bag.)
